Today, Daimler ag, a wholly owned subsidiary of mercedes-benz energy co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as the "mercedes-benz energy company") and Beijing new energy automobile co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing new energy") formally established technology development partnership, the proposed plan in Beijing jointly build the first cell arrangement in use of energy storage unit.

According to introducing, the two sides will arrangement in energy storage battery power of retired tang on the technology and experience, relying on Beijing new energy existing retirement power battery on the market, to build a safe and reliable arrangement in use of energy storage system, aiming at providing a possible future for China's sustainable energy industry application mode of valuable information, which will lay a foundation for the further expansion of cooperation.
 
Mercedes-benz energy's large-scale energy storage devices can be used for peak load compensation, black start and uninterruptible power supply, with a special focus on battery cascade utilization and standby energy storage applications. The move follows Daimler's success with partners in integrating three large storage units, totalling 40 megawatt hours, using automotive power battery systems into the German grid.
 
Gordon Gassmann, chief executive of mercedes-benz energy, said: "the growing distance between where energy is produced and where it is consumed poses a significant challenge to today's energy networks, creating a wide range of opportunities for the development of fixed energy storage systems around the world. The battery cascade energy storage unit is a very reasonable supplement, and our further utilization of retired automotive power batteries is also a sustainable use of valuable raw materials."
